9:30am - 12:30pm
Please check your invitation before planning to attend; this event is for a small subset of guests.
The Haldi Ceremony is a ritual that is celebrated in the days leading up to the wedding. The bride and groom's closest family and friends joyfully apply tumeric paste ("haldi") to the couples' bodies to protect them against evil spirits and make their skin beautiful for the upcoming wedding. The Ceremony is light-hearted, fun, and similarly to a rehearsal dinner, the Ceremony is invitation-only.
The Ceremony will last a few hours. After the Ceremony is over, all attendees will leave to their hotel and get ready to return to The Factory for the Sangeet. The bride and groom will remain at The Factory to shower and prepare for the Sangeet.
Here's a link to help explain the ceremony a little more if you're interested!
Traditionally, the haldi's bright, yellow color is auspicious, and symbolic of the good fortune that the close family and friends are imparting on the bride and groom in the next phase of their lives. Christy and Eshaan will be wearing shades of yellow and orange, and we invite you to do the same! Western or Indian attire is appropriate.
Street parking and surrounding public parking lots are available for guests to self-park for this event.
